Known in the United Methodist progressive movement for her integrity, prophetic witness, and collaborative spirit, Cabrera has had extensive work experience in the United Methodist Church serving as an Executive Staff member of United Methodist Women, Deputy Director of Reconciling Ministries Network, and a leader in the Love Your Neighbor Coalition. Cabrera earned her undergraduate degree from The University of Alabama and MDiv from Candler School of Theology at Emory University. “In this time of uncertainty in the United Methodist Church, Bridget brings faith, clear convictions and tremendous skills to lead MFSA. She is a strong leader in the work of justice and calls the church to a future not yet realized,” stated Rev. Amy Stapleton, chair of the MFSA Personnel Committee.

General Conference 2019

Rev. Dr. Cedrick Bridgeforth is a pastor, author, educator, writer, consultant, and public speaker. Bridgeforth, a native of Decatur, Alabama, has pastored Bowen Memorial, Crenshaw and Santa Ana United Methodist Churches. He is a former District Superintendent in the California-Pacific Conference of The United Methodist Church with oversight of 84 congregations and approximately 12,000 congregants.  Currently, Bridgeforth is the Principal/Founder of 20/20 Leadership Lessons and serves as Director of Academic Programs at the Ecumenical Center for Black Church Studies at the University of La Verne.

Rev. Gary Bernard Williams

Pastor Gary was born and raised in Los Angeles, California. He is the pastor of Saint Mark UMC in the heart of South Los Angeles. He brings a passion for congregational revitalization, spiritual transformation, community engagement and children and youth mentorship.

Pastor Gary completed his undergraduate studies first at Los Angeles City College, AA Degree in Liberal Arts, California State University Los Angeles, BA Degree in Pan-African Studies, Los Angeles Southwest Community College, completing the Chemical Dependency Certificate Program, and Claremont School of Theology, with a Masters of Divinity Degree.

Pastor Gary is an Elder in the California-Pacific Annual Conference.  He currently serves on the General Board of Church and Society Advisory Team for a 2019, Ministry with the Poor Gathering, Chair of the Cal-Pac Taskforce, Justice Not Jails, Chair Strengthening the Black Church Conference Committee. Founded the Full Circle Recovery Ministry a Christian based 12 Step group and Faith in Action, a group started to end Gun and Gang violence in South LA.  He is a mentor to at-risk children and youth especially young men. In his current appointment he is helping to create The Manna House Project a after school program, for community children to have a safe space to learn and grow intellectually and spiritually.

Pastor Gary has a prophetic, progressive, and transformative vision of what South Los Angeles can be. Pastor Gary believes deeply that, “only what you do for Christ will last.” He is married to Myrna Larue Jefferson-Williams a gifted teacher and church leader who is a passionate advocate for all people.
